As the fog lifted and warm autumn sun pierced the cool morning air, PA students huddled into big yellow buses and rushed off to Mt. Elmore. Once at the park, with smiles and laughter abounding, we all set off to reach the summit, explore the woods, or complete a service project for the state park. By late morning, sweaty, dirty, a bit tired, but still smiling we gathered at the park picnic area for fun & games and a delicious meal prepared by our superb kitchen staff (Thank you Annalise & Becky!) With full bellies, we gathered in our Teacher Advisory groups (TA) and completed a series of critical and creative thinking initiatives and teamwork challenges. With happy hearts, new memories, and droopy eyes we reconvened in the big yellow buses and headed back down the hill.
Our trip to Mt. Elmore State Park was a fantastic success and another reason that PA is a great place to go to school. The trip helped us to strengthen our school culture, learn about each other, and take a moment to breathe in our beautiful state and local surroundings. We believe that activities and actions like our trip today have a huge impact toward creating and maintaining a very positive, supportive, and successful learning environment at PA.
